Are you a candidate for the upcoming Local Election? Do you want to make a meaningful impact on climate change? Climate action means urgently committing to and achieving a Fossil Free Future, in Ireland, and around the world. Our Climate Pledge for the upcoming local elections focuses on two issues affecting climate action in Ireland:
Keeping Ireland LNG Free
Moratorium on Data Centres
We are asking candidates to pledge to raising (or supporting) motions on these two issues once elected.
By signing the Pledge as a Climate Leader, you commit to raise a motion on keeping Ireland LNG free or for a moratorium on data centres.
By signing the Pledge as a Climate Supporter, you commit to vote in favour of motions on keeping Ireland LNG free or for a moratorium on data centres. If you pledge to be a Climate Leader (raise a motion), it will be assumed that you are also committed to voting in favour of others’ motions on keeping Ireland LNG free or for a moratorium on data centres, respectively.
You can find out more about the pledge here. By signing up to the pledge you will work towards achieving those principles if you get elected.
We will publicise who has signed the pledge before the elections, so everyone will see who is a Climate Leader, a Climate Supporter or a Climate Culprit!
To sign up all you have to do is fill out the details by clicking here or the button above. You can find social media promotion materials (draft posts, graphics) you can share about you signing the pledge here.
